BMGodsEye by BigMerchant

The eye that never sleeps.

Smart cameras on site, AI in the cloud, alerts on your phone. GodsEye flags theft at the shelf and the till as it happens, and shows you how your shop, office or warehouse is running when you can’t be there.

Built for Nigerian businesses. Works with ShopKeeper POS, or on its own.

Live detection

Every alert is checked before it reaches you

Fast models watch every frame. Rules decide what looks wrong. A vision-language model reviews the clip, and only a confirmed event reaches your phone. Unsure clips go to a review queue instead of a push alert.

How it works

From the shop floor to your phone

Each device opens an outbound, encrypted tunnel to GodsEye Cloud. It works behind 4G networks, with nothing port-forwarded and no open ports in your shop.

  • Boots to streamingin under 60 s
  • Heartbeatevery 60 s, keepalive 25 s
  • Firmwaresigned A/B updates with automatic rollback
  • ClockNTP-synced, every frame stamped in UTC

ShopKeeper POS

Video suggests. The till record proves.

GodsEye reads every sale, void, refund and drawer event from ShopKeeper and checks it against what the till camera saw. Each till terminal maps to one camera and one till zone, with clocks less than a second apart.

Alerts link to the receipt in ShopKeeper, and receipts link back to the clip. Not on ShopKeeper? GodsEye runs in video-only mode.

Power and connectivity

When NEPA takes light, GodsEye keeps recording

Every Cam has a battery that takes over with no reboot. If the internet drops, the device records to its SD card and uploads flagged events when the link returns.

Ways to connect

  • Shop Wi-FiStable fibre or broadband on siteThe Cam needs 2.4 GHz
  • Bundled 4G MiFiNo internet, or Wi-Fi you can’t rely onCan come with the subscription and a data plan
  • USB 4G dongleSingle-device sitesPlugs straight into the Cam or Hub
  • EthernetRetrofits with existing CCTVHub only. The most stable link

Data per camera, per month

  • 25–60 GBMotion-only streaming (default on 4G)Varies with footfall
  • 80–130 GBContinuous AI stream, 640×360 @ 5 fps0.25–0.4 Mbps
  • 1–3 GBEvent HD clips, 10–15 s eachPer event

Motion-only streaming is the default on 4G, so a two-camera shop fits a typical monthly data bundle. The app tells you when a device has been on battery for more than 30 minutes.

Operations

It also tells you how the day went

The same cameras that catch theft count visitors, time your queues and log when you opened. You get one summary on WhatsApp every evening.

Privacy by design

Watching what happens, never who someone is

GodsEye handles video of customers and staff, which is personal data under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. You are the data controller and BigMerchant is the processor.

  • No faces, no identitiesNo facial recognition, no biometric matching and no tracking of a person across businesses.
  • Tracks that forgetPeople are anonymous IDs that expire when they leave the frame.
  • A person decidesEvery incident is reviewed by a human. The app never labels anyone a thief.
  • Privacy masksBlack out toilets, a neighbour’s window or any area you choose during setup.
  • Audio stays offMicrophones are off by default and not offered in v1.
  • Short memoryEvent clips are kept 30 days and the device loop 3–5 days. You can shorten both.
  • Locked downWireGuard from device to cloud, TLS to the app, encryption at rest, no open ports on site.
  • Every view loggedRole-based access, an audit trail of every clip view and download, two-factor login for owners.

Every kit ships with a CCTV notice sticker for your door, and the app reminds you to display it. GodsEye does not replace guard services or alarm-response companies.

Kits and plans

Hardware near cost. The service does the work.

Buy the devices at cost, or rent them on a 12-month plan with nothing upfront. Every device needs a GodsEye Cloud subscription, priced per camera. Monthly prices are set during the pilot, once the real cost per camera is measured.
